My name is Sarah

I am an artist based in Ventura California and I work in many creative disciplines. I am a fine art watercolor painter but I also have worked in textiles, block printing, fiber art, jewelry, photography and I co hosted a podcast called "please don't send me into outer space". The common thread in my work is an appreciation of the simple. Sometimes the work is more elaborate, but in those cases I have done one basic technique over and over. The process in my work is slow, patient and meditative. I was impacted greatly by a year spent in rural China when I was 14. I also love all natural organic reactions that come about through manipulating materials. There is a level of experimentation, fun, as well as intuition that I use when working. But my main source of inspiration is nature, animals, peace and examining everything down to its most fundamental parts and materials.
